Zero Burning

Zero burning has been a practice in all of the group’s estates for many years. For replanting work, our estates practice the chipping of palm trunks and leaving the residue to decompose on site.

A strict no-burning policy is also extended to households within the estate’s control, particularly with regard to rubbish disposal. At the same time, we consistently engaged farmers and communities in areas where we operate to support our no-burning approach to clear land. The ban on open burning is crucial in minimising the release of greenhouse gases, which the group tracks regularly.
