In 2018, the Group started an organic vegetable farm on a one-hectare plot in North Sumatra. The farm adheres to the principles of organic farming such as the use of no pesticides, no synthetic fertilisers, crop rotation, composting and soil enrichment practices. A 10-feet wide and 10-feet deep buffer zone was created on the perimeter of the farm to isolate it from surrounding areas, and clean underground water is used to ensure no contamination. Nutrients from composted empty fruit bunches, and worm castings are used to fertilise crops.
